One of the girls who had regularly been visiting with her Dad at Harmony House was missing her special time with him. Dad and daughter had tried to host virtual visits to see each other during the period of mandated social distancing, but couldn’t due to connection issues with their Zoom visits from home.
We weren’t about to let a little technology glitch get in the way of a family wanting to connect! Our Case Managers came up with a creative solution– the child was invited to come onsite at Harmony House to play with all the toys and games she wanted, while Dad joined on Zoom. Both dad and daughter had a fun time and are excited for their next visit.
By providing this family a more stable connection in our comfortable, home-like environment, this family is able to continue building important family bonds. During a time of anxiety and much uncertainty, Dad and daughter had the comfort of seeing each other’s faces, hearing one another’s voices, and spending quality time ‘together,’ while apart.
