After five fun weeks, the Sounds of Summer concert series presented by UC Health came to an end on August 9th. CASA of Larimer County was proud to partner with the voices of local musicians to share their mission to be a voice in court for abused and neglected children.  Through a partnership with Fortified Collaboration, each week we highlighted amazing youth talent and had great local musicians headlining our Thursday evening events at Front Range Village.  Over 1,200 attendees gathered for these community events and got to enjoy beer provided by DC Oakes and food from Famous Dave’s and Urban Bricks Pizza.  Children in attendance received balloons from CASA staff and enjoyed playing at the Learning Express vendor table.  Happy Lucky’s Teahouse and First Tech were local shops supporting the series.

“We are in need of more volunteers as well as the financial resources to train and support them, ” stated Sabrina Stoker, Executive Director. “Right now we are able to serve nearly 50% of the children who need an advocate to help them on their journey to find a safe and permanent home.  That means for every two cases that are referred to our program, our staff has to choose which child gets a CASA volunteer.  You can help us reach our goal to provide a volunteer to EVERY child in Larimer County who needs a CASA volunteer as they recover from abuse and neglect.”  Thanks to this partnership with Fortified Collaborations and Front Range Village and with support from our amazing vendors and sponsors, the Sounds of Summer concert series enabled CASA of Larimer County to share their mission and recruit a few volunteers.

We have training classes coming up in September and October.  Check out our website for additional information on becoming a CASA volunteer or supporting CASA in other ways.
