On Saturday, December 1st, CASA of Larimer County held it’s Annual Artisan Fair to raise funds to support the operation of Harmony House. Seventeen local artists participated in the event, which, coincidentally, is the number of years it has been taking place.

Selling everything from delicious chocolate covered pretzels to beautiful pieces of framed art, the participating artisans donated between 35 and 100% of their proceeds to the organization, which will be used towards the operating costs of the Harmony House, which facilitated over 2,500 supervised visitations and safe child exchanges last year alone.

Preparing for the Fair is a major event, and requires the participation of scores of dedicated volunteers, who do everything from yard work to house painting. Beginning on the Thursday prior to the event, Harmony House was cleared of all of it’s furniture and furnishings to make room for the individual art displays. The event kicked off on Friday evening with an invitation only preview sale. It ran from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. In all, more than $7,000 was raised for Harmony House. In addition to generating financial support, the event also feeds the spirit of everyone involved, especially the staff. “It is so heartwarming to see everyone come together, from volunteers and staff, to the artists and the shoppers, to ensure that children have a safe place to visit their families this holiday season,” said Executive Director, Sabrina Stoker.
