CASA Volunteer
Right now, there is a child in your community who needs your help! There are more than 30 children on the waitlist for a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Children with a CASA volunteer are more likely to find safe, permanent homes, more likely to succeed in school, and half as likely to re-enter the foster care system once their case has been closed.
You can be the difference - become a CASA Volunteer. In order to volunteer, you will need to:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Complete a background check and fingerprint scan
- Attend a CASA Open House at Harmony House or a virtual CASA 101 informational session
- Submit a completed volunteer application form
- Interview with a CASA Case Supervisor
- Complete 30-40 hours of in-person and virtual trainings in courtroom procedures, social services, the juvenile justice system, and the special needs of abused and neglected children
- Complete 12 hours of continued training each year
