DESCRIPTION:CASA of Larimer County will be closed on Monday January 15th 2024 in observance of MLK Day\, commemorating the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King worked to end racial segregation across America\, and was a pioneer of the fight for civil rights and racial equality in our nation from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964\, the same year Congress passed the Civil Rights Act. \nWe are committed to honoring Dr. King’s work and legacy by fostering diversity\, equity\, inclusion\, justice\, accessibility\, and belonging (#DEIJAB) in our organization and across our programs. \nYou can visit the Poudre River Public Library District for library resources and recommended books about Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement. For more information about ways to continue Dr. King’s work\, check out the BIPOC Alliance’s community event at the Lincoln Center today\, and visit their page to learn more about equity\, empowerment\, and Black history in Larimer County. \n
